The Celestron 11049 is a 4-inch Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope with premium StarBright XLT multi coatings and fully computerized GoTo mount with high-performance brass worm gears and motors for improved tracking accuracy. It features SkyAlign which allows alignment on any three bright celestial objects, making for a rapid, efficient alignment process. The telescope includes NexRemote telescope control software and RS-232 cable for advanced control of the telescope with a PC.
The Celestron 11049 features Star Diagonal internal flip mirror for straight or 90-degree viewing angle and it can also be used to rapidly switch from the eyepiece to a camera without disturbing telescope alignment. It has
StarPointer finderscope which helps with alignment and locating objects. The sturdy steel tripod for rapier-sharp astrophotography.

This really is a great telescope for many reasons. It is very easy to use and alignment is almost fool proof. You spend your tme looking at things in the sky, not setting up or adjusting your machine. That’s the point.

I highly recommend this as a telescope for a young astronomer or as a starter's telescope.I've had this telescope for quite a while now and I'm happy to say that I have managed to get it to align properly. The only alignment method that's worked great for me was the Solar System Align which allows you to choose any Solar System object (like the moon) and work off of that. It does work well and while what I slew to may not be perfectly centered in the eyepiece, it's still pretty close and you can adjust it with the remote control. Also I found the tracking to be very handy and accurate for at least an hour before the object drifts off.

For the price, this is a great telescope. I was able to quickly find items like the andromeda galaxy and perseus cluster. Getting used to alignment was tricky but after some practice I figured it out.
